Asante International has just recommended Hope Milele Africa, working in partnership with Hope of Africa Mission NGO, in Burundi, to take over the child sponsorship program in Ngozi Burundi. Since Asante International stopped accepting funds, over a year ago, the children in Burundi were cut off from all funding. Working together with the outgoing Asante International Board, and our partners in Burundi, we have began re-uniting Burundi children with their sponsors. Burundi has often been rated as the poorest nation in the world. As a result of the closure of Asante International in Portland, OR, USA, nearly 400 children in Ngozi lost all support.
Hope Milele Africa is working to restore the hope and the future of families in Ngozi, Burundi. The work is exciting and the feedback has been so encouraging. We recently sent food, supplies, and funds for teacher salaries into Burundi. They arrived just in time for Christmas. This recent news should help families in Burundi start the new year with a renewed sense of hope.
